Opening Times for Uniform Shop, November & December 2024 and February 2025
The school community (parents, students and staff) have agreed that Mackellar girls wear a school uniform. The school community believes that the wearing of a uniform reflects the individual's commitment to the school. The girls are expected to be in FULL school or FULL sport uniform at all times.
The following items are not permitted:
• Makeup
• Eyelash extensions
• Nail polish and/or fake nails
• Jewellery (other than small stud or sleeper earrings, 1 plain ring or 1 discreet necklace)
• Nose rings
• Body embellishments including but not limited to: tattoos, earlobe spreaders, piercings, and dermals
• Extreme hair colours (radical and/or multicoloured)
• Extreme hair styles (unnatural styling/patterns/colours)
• Boots
All students must wear black hard leather fully covered shoes (not boots). Workplace Health and Safety regulations require students to wear school shoes in practical subjects. Students not wearing black hard leather shoes may be excluded from these classes.
If for any reason your daughter cannot come to school in full school uniform, parents/carers should send an email to the office stating the reason for being out of uniform for that day. The student should report to the Deputy Principals’ office before 8.44am to collect a uniform pass. If a student is out of uniform without parent/carer notification, a uniform infringement will be recorded, and a detention may be issued.
Particular sport uniforms are compulsory for school hockey and netball teams only and are available through the PE faculty. Sport shoes must be lace up. Canvas and/or Converse are not acceptable.
All Mackellar uniform items, with the exception of shoes, are available exclusively through the school's Uniform Shop located in A block, next to the school office. A Mackellar Girls back pack (pdf 3512 KB)(school bag) is now also available. Opening hours for the Uniform Shop are as per Opening Hours document attached below. The Uniform Shop opens extra hours (including weekends) at the beginning of the year, at the change over from summer to winter uniform, and at the end of the year.
